Lovely large Victorian antique high brow china doll with grey hair. This beautiful doll is wearing a handmade blue dress. High brow dolls were also referred to Civil War Dolls as they were made between 1860 and 1870. She is quite the southern bell. This doll is 20" Tall. I believe she original had a Kid Leather body but dolls like this one are often found with replacement cloth bodies, like this one. Stitching usually did not hold to the kid leather body, so to preserve the heads they were often attached to another dolls body. It also appears that this doll has been restore and the face has been reglazed, which is why you will notice some crazing in the face. Please examine the pictures carefully. I have priced this doll in accordance with replace parts and restoration that was attempted. I believe she would be the perfect gift to start a young doll collector's collection or would make a wonderful addition to your collection or you can use her in your altered art pieces or jewelry.
