This is a great antique still bank for Prudential Insurance Co of America. The spine reads "SAVE AND INSURE, ZELL, VOL.V (5)". I think this Book Bank is in good antique condition for being about 90 years old but there is wear on the top and bottom corners of the spine and a wear line along one side of the embossing on the front. it appears that the bank was kept in drawer with stamps because there is a piece of envelope and stamp stuck to the back. The Still Bank Book has 4 brass corner protectors.
This is a great little Paper Leather Embossed Book Bank. Amazing craftsmanship of this Still Bank advertising. These banks didn't come with Keys, you would put your premiums in the book every week and then when they were due, you took your Book Bank to the Bank or Insurance Company and they would open it for you. The Slot on top is for coins and the round circle on the bottom was for Bills.
